To Whom It May Concern:
Please accept this letter as a support recommendation for THE DALLAS BRASS. This outstanding gathering of six gifted musicians is an incredibly refreshing addition to the world of music-making. I have been a loyal fan of the ensemble since I heard them twelve years ago at a national camp as they captivated an audience of 1,200 high school musicians.
The group can musically stand alone with any of today's finest chamber groups. However, they go far above their counterparts when it comes to "connecting with their audience." From the beginning of their concert to the final resounding note, the vivid personalities of The Dallas Brass are as much a part of the group's success as their varied repertoire. There is something for everyone, and it is driven by the ongoing personalization experienced by every audience member.
I am particularly taken by their dedication and commitment to music education. Whether they are sponsored by a local Arts Council or performing on the stage of Carnegie Hall, they never fail to include some of the area high school/middle school musicians as part of their show. The members of The Dallas Brass are, in their own right, world-class musicians, but they are also master teachers. Their mission focuses on the positive growth and development of the school musician. Wherever they are performing, clinics and workshops are a requested addition to their playing agenda.
Mike Levine (Director and Founder) has been a longtime friend. His own sense of mission serves as a model for all music educators around the globe. He continues to use The Dallas Brass as a showcase to demonstrate the value of music-learning for every child.
I extend my sincerest congratulations to Mike and his talented colleagues, and I urge anyone and everyone to take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy one of the most exciting musical groups of the new millennium; THE DALLAS BRASS.
In the name of excellence in music education, I remain,
