Jim Lutz

Trombone

Jim was born and raised in Mt. Pleasant, MI.  In addition to trombone, Jim plays bass and keyboards, and composes and produces music for clients around the world, and for his YouTube channel, Twitch livestream, and Patreon page. He earned a bachelor's degree in music education from Central Michigan University and a master's degree in jazz studies at the University of Southern California while also serving as a teaching assistant. Jim has appeared on stages, in recording studios, and in broadcast media in cities around the world including London, Paris, Tokyo, Los Angeles, and New York. From 2001-2003, he toured North America and Japan with the TONY® and EMMY® award-winning production "Blast!". Jim has over a decade of experience at Cirque du Soleil. He has played trombones and keyboards, created sound effects, and served as music director/conductor on productions including Kooza (World Tour, 2007-2015), Paramour on Broadway (NYC, 2016-17), Paramour das Musical (Hamburg, Germany, 2019), and Twas the Night Before (NYC, 2019). Jim currently resides in Raritan, New Jersey with his wife, Adrienne, and daughter, Sophie.
