BRIAN NEAL

Trumpet

Brian Neal (Trumpet), born in Miami, FL, is an Emmy Award-winning trumpet player and composer whose career has taken him across the U.S., Europe, and Russia. A consummate soloist, Brian has been featured with the California Symphony, Florida Philharmonic, Orchestra Miami, Miami Wind Symphony, and Youngstown Symphony. He was a soloist on Alejandro Sanz’s album La Música No Se Toca, which received a Latin Grammy. Brian has also released a solo CD with organist Thomas Schuster entitled "Reflections". He was invited to perform his composition, “Concertante #1” in Carnegie Hall, and in Spain, with the 'Manuel Rodríguez Sales' School-Conservatory of Leganés, Spain. A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and the University of Miami, Brian has performed under the batons of Seiji Ozawa and Simon Rattle. Currently a professor at the University of Denver, Lamont School of Music, Brian, along with his vocalist wife, Karen, has dual residences in Denver and Sitka, AK. He spends his summers teaching at the Sitka Fine Arts Camp and fishing for salmon, which he claims is “the best salmon anywhere!”
